This morning we did presentation practice(rehearsals) in groups. My project is Introducing Attractions in Olso.
I designed serval question and situation of visitor traveling by slide file in the openning of the presentation.Lars and Joanna like traveling situation.Maybe I can use the title”Traveling in Attractions in Olso” which is more active.
In the process of learning,I design a team learning project .This learnig project need learners to answer serval important questions. The questions include: why is the attraction famous? How can we get it?What are interesting story or details of the attraction.Leaners need to work by Google Earth,Google,Google doc, etc. The beginning of the project will need 5mins to introduction. The important process of learners activity will need 10-15mins,the phase of presentation and review will need 10-15mins.
I think it is suitable for the learners in Olso LATINA.I think I still need to compare google doc or others tools for these online collaborative learning. And I also need to design some interseting choosing question, selecting some interesting website to introduce, etc.Learners will be encourage to decide which attraction will they prefer to choosing as their traveling topic.
Today,we train our opening for our projects. And everyone’s opening is very good but we should give some suggestions for the better.
In the beginning of today ,we learn some formats for our presentation. There are six formats:
1.It’s the general one.The teacher gives a lecture and students listen.
2.We will work in a group.triad. There are three students in a group. Two talk and one observes then turn the roles. It is very good.
3.Maybe there are two or more teacher in the front of the classroom.I think it is very userful and we don’t use it in China.
4.We could discuss together in a circle. It’s a good format.
5.Sometimes there will be one student stand in the front of the class and discuss with the teacher .Other students observe or give some suggestions.
6.This format there will be two students in a group and there will be two lines. We talk with our parternor .
In one word, we should give a presentation in a format that will get the attention of the students and deliver the knowledge to them and help them to accept the knowledge.
Today we had a practice – how to prepare good introduction. First we were talking about our first 5 minutes of workshop and after all participants had a small training. We worked in a small group (4 persons). We gave a feedback to each other (first positive opinion, later advice what can be improved). This kind of practice is very important (tomorrow I will conduct workshop about abstract art). Now I know what was good and what I can improve and think about this during workshop (for example write some words, especially new like ABSTRACT ART on the blackboard - audience can understand what I am talking about). I decided to use visual information (pictures and video) to describe and explain Abstract art.
It’s important to speak loudly and clearly when you are giving a feedback (not only while you conduct a workshop)!
If you want to know more about my workshop - just visit ma blog http://djast.wordpress.com and go to: WORKSHOP/ABSTRACT ART, EXAMPLES, INSTRUCTION
Today I will send You one picture on gmail (please don’t delete message!), you will use this photo during the workshop.
See you tomorrow!!!
I like this exercise very much. Professor Helge told me about important things that I have always forgotten. I know that I am very talkative and I speak to quickly, but is really hard to control that, especial when I am in front of the audience. Professor Helge told me that I must think about breathe, it is really helpful. That’s way we have very quickly breathed exercise. It was fun. During my presentation I have to remember about some basic rules. Keep eye contact with all participants, be calm and think twice before I say something, remember about body language is very important and helpful. And first of all don’t panic, don’t talk too much, because it is better to show more than say to much. I am happy that we are good friends and we know each other so it is much more easier to talk to You and “teach” You. So see You tomorrow. Remember to listen me very carefully and don’t disturb me, please
Today I learnt about presentation of our learning events. Some of the tips include: Introduce the topic by giving a Big Picture of what you are going to talk about. Explain concepts in your own words. The presenter must be composed to effectively deliver the presentation. Avoid unpleasant gestures like pacing the room, scratching your head because this irritates your audience. Use catchy phrases to introduce your topic. For example if my topic is about Access to Music, I can use a quote, “Access to music is a challenge to both the teachers and students.” No need to despair anymore. Free online music is available for scholars and today am going to give you a virtual tour of the resources. While concluding, there is need to remind your audience about the topic and important aspects.
Since yesterday we were dealing with some concepts, much on how to make a breaf, interesting and not bored presentation. This is much and more important in any Learning Event, it must include both Teachers as well as students, every one must be aware during delivering a messege to the audience, it should not just take as simple as someone can try to think about it, so during making presentation there are some rules which must be considered inorder the presentation to be clear and understood to the audience. For example we just divided a simple example presentation in 30minutes and trying to describe that atleast we must use this division ,ie 5min for just an introduction of yourself and short about the topic. 10 minutes to deliver the messege by examples on the concrete topic, then another 10minutes to give the audience to discuss and give them the all possibilities to find out and know where they can find the correct topic/subject you are trying to adress, and lastly the rest 5minutes ,is the time for the presenter to ask the audience if they have understood and got the concept of what he or she real intended to explain that topic.
Today we tried to make a simple presentations ,actually it was fine and gives experience and good practice to those who did not do before, we got both positives and negatives feedbacks and more about improvements from teachers and fellow students who acted as audience, it was fine ,I liked it.
